Mother Tucker is Interviewed by Channel 2

You don't meet many 90-year-olds who are anxious to start a new chapter in their lives, but Tulsa's Mother Tucker is one of them.

"I'm excited! Amen!," said Tucker.

She's excited to keep doing what she first started doing more than 50 years ago -- helping Tulsa's homeless.

"It makes me feel good," said Tucker. "The bible says more blessed to give than to receive."

In 1975, she opened a ministry and shelter for the homeless out of her thrift store, but financial and health problems over the past few years forced her to close it down.

"It gave me what you call soul sickness because I had hope."

And she still does, because she's starting all over again. She's opened a new church, the Revival House of Prayer, in West Tulsa.

And she's also bought the building next door. With enough donations she hopes to make it a distribution center -- where those in need can pick up furniture, appliances, and food.
